Rarely do
I come across a blog that’s equally educative and engaging, and let me
tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The issue is an issue that not enough people are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to
this.

Our children’s department has a group of 5th and 6th graders separate from the rest of the children. The youth group includes these students into some of our mission events like our Fall Festival and other activities through out the year. It’s such a great way to get them excited about things they get to do in the youth group while still allowing them to being with the “kids”. Also, in the past when the 7th graders move up to our youth group we have had a “camp-up-a-notch” where the junior high (7th thru 9th graders) camp out all weekend and grow bonds with those closest to their age. In the spring we have bigger events for the whole 7th-12th graders to help hype up our big mission trip in the summer.

I printed this article and used it in our YM training huddle before our MSM this week. Thanks for always investing in other youth workers!
