I could have written this article!!! Your suggestions for getting teens to respond are right on. I asked a group one time to help me understand why they just sit and stare. One young man told me, “You always ask us what we think about things. Most of the time adults just want us to repeat whatever they’ve told us. If you want us to think, we need time to do it.” I learned a valuable lesson that day!
