You got it, Mike. I’ve felt the hurdle of a home, too. It’s hard to understand what it means to be fully committed somewhere without ever laying down some kind of roots. Maybe God wants you to completely uproot, or maybe He wants you to look elsewhere in town. Maybe you’re current church isn’t completely out of the question. Praying for wisdom.

You got it, Janet. One of the hardest (yet most fruitful) ways to experience spiritual growth is when you let God chisel away at you today versus trying to shift out of what He has you experiencing.

I know that serving the Lord is not about me but when you feel depleted Satan is right there to try to lead you astray. This is a great reminder that I am the tool and just need to be willing to follow Christ wherever he needs me to go or stay. Praise God for the messages and people he provides to keep us on track.

This hit me where I’m living. Been at the church over seven years and facing the retirement of the senior pastor soon. I “feel” God changing my direction from youth to senior pastor with a focus on the family and ministering to the strengthening of that unit. Not in this location though and this is tough bc we are purchased a home and the ties we now have to the community. I know that we are refined by fire and some days I feel like I’m burning up rather than being refined. Love the next person who walks in front of you. Often it is the one that is encouraging me the most to head out and lead a church. God has a way of doing that. The one you want to see the least just keeps showing up. Thanks for these words.

I am wrestling to determine if God wants me to stay or to leave both positions for full time student ministry, Thanks for the post when I needed it.
