Great question!! I don’t run into resistance because it’s a rule that they have to have a physical bible at small group. I will get them one if they don’t have one. It’s also a time for them to unplug from social media and really focus and interact with each other and God. It’s not just about them being a distraction, it’s more about them being distracted.
You can definitely use it as an opportunity for them to be responsible, but sense we only meet once a week I would rather remove distractions so they can focus on each other and God. I also encourage them to do the same on their own. thanks for the response!!!

I have a quick question. When you remove their cell phones, do you encounter the objection of them using their phone as their Bible? And also, would it not be better to allow them to have their cell phones but with the expectation they won’t be a distraction and give them the opportunity to be responsible with what God has given them?

Thanks,

-Justin
