Which brings back that we can never leave the simplicity of the gospel message. Something I have been thinking about and am going to apply to our 2015 theme.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I agree 100% that we can not assume anything about people and be sensitive to what students need.

There are students, adult leaders and families that struggle through deep pain at this time of year because of loss, divorce/adsence and even finances. Every student doesn’t have a Hallmark Christmas with their family.
But let’s not just show sympathy. Let’s give hope by emphasizing Who we have received over what we are going to get (or even who we will celebrate with). Maybe Christmas can be a time of true gratitude and joy for everyone.
“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.” – Matthew 4:16
