That’s NOTHING compared to our school camps. Even year 6 camp had bugs on the beds.

I am still in year 6, but in year 10 camp, you need to sleep with only a sleeping bag in the open elements, home to the creepy crawlies and the bears, you need to pee in a hole in the dirt (this attracts bears too) have no campfire, and the only activity you do for 8 days is to hike across a dry mountain by foot with no water. No showers for a week. You need to drink from a pond. And while you hike, you have to have like a 20kg bag on your back (what’s the so called ‘7kg and below bag rule at school)

I am the director at one of the largest Christian camps in Oregon. tadmor.org I have heard of other youth leaders having experiences like the one in this article at other camps. You offer good advice. Also, it is important to know who you are dealing with. If you can trust the staff, when you do have bugs (which we dont, because its Oregon), they will deal with it in a helpful manner. Most camps invite a pre-visit and pre-meeting. In fact, my door is always open… I will even take you snowboarding at a nearby resort.
