In reply to Matthew Wyatt. Thanks for commenting! When I was learning student ministry, I was talk it's equal part students, parents, and volunteers. Some seasons are different, but I've tried to live into that for a long time and it seems to be effective. Keep loving students!

In reply to Dexter Young. Thanks for the comment Dexter. I couldn't agree more, though it took me a few years to realize it. And on top of it all, youth ministry is way more fun when parents are viewed as partners instead of competitors. Keep loving students!

Good article! No one knows the youth better than his/her own parents. We must never think that the parents lack the expertise that we may or may not have about their child. We are simply here to assist them in parenting their son/daughter in a godly, spiritual manner.
