Any game that would require you to kill another human, albiet cartoony, to advance in the game. What would be your response to a family who, especially in today’s climate, would not approve a church event whose goal would to partake in the hunger game style; last man standing sniper game. Would it isolate that family in the safety and trust values that would be in conflict with a church and its membership? Minecraft does have similar kill type functionality, and even have a battle royale multiplayer mode. We do allow some Minecraft multiplayer, monitored; and Star Wars Battlefront, monitored, and Lego adventure games. Are there spiritual concerns or norms that are in conflict with a church youth group event, even though it is popular in todays society. These games have allowed our 4 teen and pre-teen boys to have productive family discussions about boundries and values. Thank you for the article.

As I was reading I thought, “What if we got boxes and set up on our field to play nerf wars but fortnite like rules? Ten you do it! Boom. Love it.

My 16 y/o and 11 y/o sons, just downloaded Fortnite and now I am reading this article!
Thank you for the insights, I am now thinking how to re-launch our youth ministry at our (17 month old) church.
Thanks again and God bless you!
