In this episode we go to the email bag. We discuss what to do when the ministry you’re serving in is not what you thought. We also discuss parents. Remember, you can leave a question or topic suggestion at talkyouthministry@gmail.com.
Hope it helps,
AC & Kurt

To the lady who believes she is at the wrong church: My desire was to reach the non believer and disciple those who were serious about the faith.
Sorry, I was typing too fast above and hit enter instead of shift. 🙂 Anyhow, I can empathize with your situation. I was called to church that had little outreach and kids with marginal faith at best. After 1 year all but one person who was in the ministry stepped down leaving the majority of the work for me. I was overwhelmed for the first two years, but every time I felt like quitting I went back to the call that was so clear. About 4 years into the ministry things started to gel. I was able to do outreach to the community through a youth center we were opening and worked on developing other leaders, both student and adult. The ministry is thriving today, but that was not always the case. If you feel you were called to the church remember that calling and stick it out. It will be tough, but God didn’t put you there because it was going to be easy. Like Kurt and AC said, have the conversations you need to with the senior pastor or elder board. Do they have your back? If so, stay the course. If not ask God what he is trying to teach you through this experience.
My bad again…I meant to say to the man, not the lady. I’ll quit typing now!
